Oscar Micheaux Festival

Oscar Micheaux, a true Renaissance man and the first African-American to produce a feature film in 1919, is laid to rest in Great Bend Cemetery. Every odd numbered year, the community comes together to honor Micheaux and produce a unique and exceptional festival dedicated to independent filmmakers.
