80-acre Heartland Farm, a project of the Dominican Sisters, will welcome you, nurture you, and introduce you to the peace and abundance of country life. Visitors are welcome to explore the straw bale buildings, the acoustically perfect silo, and learn about the large organic garden and sustainable farming practices.
- Alpacas. A herd of beautiful, inquisitive alpacas live at Heartland Farm and a visit to their barn is mandatory. Gorgeous alpaca throws, scarves, gloves, and therapeutic socks are available to take home for a bit of Heartland comfort.
- Lodging and Food. A comfortable five bedroom guest house is available for rent and nutritious organic meals are offered to lodgers and other guests. Tents and RV campers are always welcome.
- Trails. The labyrinth flows from start to center and out again. Just stay on the path and it will lead you through. Many bird species can be seen in the trees that border the creek running through the pasture.
- Gift Shop. Soft, lovely Alpaca products, delicious free trade chocolates, hand-thrown pottery, note cards, and other items are for sale year-round. This is the perfect place to shop for unique gifts. Gift certificates are also available.
- Workshops and Special Events. Workshops of a wide variety are offered throughout the year. Alpaca shearing, organic agriculture methods and volunteer work days are great experiences.
- Therapeutic Massage. Offered by appointment.
